Heights

Select a square, then type or tap a height; 0, Space or Backspace clears it. Enter or right-click switches to pencil marks. Click a clue, or press Shift with an arrow for the clue at that end of the row or column, to cross it off. M fills in every pencil mark. Ctrl or ⌘ Z undoes; Shift Z redoes.

How to play

Build a tower on every square, with a height from 1 to the size of the grid, so that every row and every column holds each height exactly once.

Each clue around the edge counts the towers you can see looking into its row or column from that side: a taller tower hides every shorter one behind it. A clue of 1 means the tallest tower comes first; a clue equal to the size means the heights rise one by one. Harder puzzles give some heights and leave some clues out.

Pencil marks note the heights a square might hold. Fill marks writes every height in every empty square. Cross off a clue once you have used it.

Repeated heights and broken clues turn red with a dashed outline. Undo and Redo follow your history; a new move after Undo replaces the old branch. Restart returns to the givens and can be undone. Solve reveals the answer; a puzzle finished with Solve does not count as solved.
