Black

Click a square to fill it black; right-click, or Ctrl-click, to mark it white; Shift-click to clear it. Drag along a row or column to paint a line; a Shift-drag clears a rectangle. On a touch screen a tap cycles the square through black, white and blank (white first with White chosen), and a drag paints a line. Arrow keys move; Enter cycles black, white, blank and Space the other way; Ctrl or ⌘ with an arrow paints black as you move, Shift white, both clears. Ctrl or ⌘ Z undoes; Shift Z redoes.

Progress saves on this device. Boards too large for the screen scroll inside their frame; the clues stay in view.

How to play

Fill in the picture. The numbers beside each row, and above each column, are the lengths of its runs of black squares, in order, with at least one white square between runs.

Mark a square white when you know it is not black. A clue turns red with a dashed outline when the finished runs in its line cannot fit it, and is struck through once its line is complete and correct.

Undo and Redo follow your history; a new move after Undo replaces the old branch. Restart clears the board and can be undone. Solve reveals the answer; a puzzle finished with Solve does not count as solved.
