Left-click a covered square to open it; right-click (or Ctrl-click, or a long press on a touch screen) marks it with a flag, and marks it again to clear it. Shift-click acts as the middle button. Left-click, press Enter on, or middle-click a number to clear the squares around it once as many neighbours are flagged as it shows. Arrow keys move the selection, Enter opens and Space flags there. Ctrl or ⌘ Z undoes; Ctrl or ⌘ Shift Z (or Y) redoes. Treading on a mine ends the attempt and raises the death count; undo to carry on.

The mines are laid on your first click, so it and the squares around it are always safe. Progress saves on this device. Boards too large for the screen scroll inside their frame.

How to play

Find every mine without opening one. A number counts the mines in the eight squares around it. The first square you open, and its neighbours, never hold a mine.

Flag the squares you know are mines; the tally counts how many are left. When a number has as many flags around it as it shows, clear the rest of its neighbours at once. A crossed mine after Solve marks a flag you placed wrongly; a burst marks the mine you trod on.

Undo and Redo follow your history; a new move after Undo replaces the old branch. Restart clears the board back to before your first click and can be undone. Solve reveals the answer; a board finished with Solve does not count as solved.
